A Sincere thank you, and a discussion of our next steps.

Hello everyone.

Now that the Kickstarter is over, I wanted to give everyone an update about what our plans are going forward ^^.

First things first though, I want to thank everyone who supported us from the bottom of my heart. I was very anxious when I first released the demo, and seeing everyone's messages and support has been amazing and very emotional.

We won't be giving up on this game, even though the Kickstarter was unsuccessful.

On that note, I have some good news:

Luckily, £1000 of the money that was donated to this Kickstarter is from a family member, who's said they're going to give us that money anyway.

The current plan is to use that to buy the remaining sprites we need and a few backgrounds, and continue working on the game as best we can. When we have a version that's complete apart from the remaining art that we can't afford (which will be CG's and backgrounds), we'll try and re-launch the Kickstarter. If it succeeds, great :). We'll buy the CGs and backgrounds we're missing and can release the game as we originally intended it. If it fails again, we'll probably release the version with just the sprites and no cg art, so people can at least see how the story ends ^^.

We'll be keeping everyone updated as we move forward, and hopefully by the time the game is written/scripted/programmed, we'll have raised a bit more awareness and can try again for a successful Kickstarter, with some improvements :).

We don't know 100% yet what the timeline for that will be now, or whether there'll be any changes, but rest assured that I'll be keeping everyone updated if there is. And I'm happy to answer any questions that people may have :)

I hope that you'll continue to follow our development as we work towards realising our dream of a finished game.

With sincere thanks,

Cami

$1000 makes a game these days seriously I prolly spent close to 20K on programs that make games on steam and half a dozen devs for a month for it to flop, I wish I knew the $1000 secret lols, but if it's just sprites then yeah thinking bout it that alone and maybe BGM I guess it would be a budget game, actually all of my current Text Based is budget but not seeing results like AAA games yet haha must be something more to it, I am willing to partner with you with your game and see what things I can help with surely there a way to help revive the failed kickstarter, I'm fine with working fully free at 1st to offset the costs of hiring a Dev for you so that cost wise it be identical to as if you made the kickstarter goal, good news your in luck I own alot of sprites I bought licenses for, possibly I have exactly what you need. Only thing is if this game is successful that I at least at a later date get what I woulda got if hired on the spot, So a VN this is hmmm I think I have sprites for those as I got into a few VN makers and sprite sets for them awhile ago, I literally never touched any of it yet and I bought it like a year ago on steam haha, if there is or is not coding involved we prolly can solve the loose ends, I'm an idea machine and not just a coder. :)

Thank you for the message :)

It'll definitely be a stretch getting as much as I can for this game on £1000 haha, but at least it means I'm able to continue working on it.

Thank you for the offer to partner with us. It's something that myself and the other developer would have to think seriously about, so perhaps it might be easier to talk over email? :)

Our email for things to do with this game is: balanceofpowergame@hotmail.com

Or if you let us know your email perhaps we can message you about it.

My email has Sarainia in it, I will get ahold of you at some point. :)

I posted on the kickstarter but thought I'd comment here too.

I'm super sorry that the kickstarter did not meet goal, but am glad that you are considering relaunching in future.

Have you considered perhaps maybe opening a patreon? I've noticed that some indie games developers have done that.

Anyway I've followed you on kickstarter and have also followed here and will keep an eye on this project as I'd love to see it as a full game someday.

Hello :)

Thank you for the message :)

Sorry that it took me a while to reply. I'll respond here rather than on the Kickstarter since it seems a bit easier.

It's a good suggestion, and we did consider a patreon initially, but my worry is that I just wouldn't have much to show/offer people on a monthly basis. I could try to release one chapter a month, but I think that without all the assets I need, it wouldn't be my best work and I'd feel very conscious putting it out in that state. I'm not sure what else I could offer to make it worth subscribing each month ^^'

Thank you for following us, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

I hope you enjoy it as much when the full game comes out ^^

I'm very sad to see this fail; it's possibly the best VN I've seen on Kickstarter in the last year. Hopefully with more awareness you'll be able to succeed next time. Good luck!

Thank you,

And thank you for all the support you've given thus far :)

Honestly, it might have been easy to get discouraged and stop working on the project if it weren't for all the really kind comments I've received that make me determined to release the full game for the people that enjoyed it ^^

Here's hoping that with some more time and effort, I'll have more success next time :)
